Second Line Strings is a jazz band from Fayetteville, Arkansas. The band plays Swing, Gypsy Jazz, Dixieland, Bossa Nova, Jazz Standards and other jazz genres.
Felipe Antonio grew up in Brazil listening to the famous Latin guitarist Antonio Carlos Jobim. Felipe fell in love with guitar at 7 yrs old and started playing at 10. He went to the U of A to study Jazz and discovered Gypsy Jazz at a student recital and was hooked on the music of the guitarist Django Reinhart. He has become the premier Gypsy Latin and swing Jazz guitarist in this region.
Grant D'Aubin on bass, met Felipe while studying bass at the U of A. They became friends through their mutual love for Jazz. Grant grew up in Arkansas listening to his dad playing bluegrass and Jazz on the mandolin. Grant studied classical and jazz bass and is known in at the NW Arkansas region for his ability to play everything from Folk music to jazz, Latin, classical and even rap music. Grant is also an anchor member of the band "Lost John" who is known for their eclectic mix of original live folk/rock.
Stan D'Aubin is Grants father whose musical background includes every thing from classic American jazz to bluegrass and swing. A mandolin player for over 40 years, Stan spent two years working in New Orleans from 2014 to 2016 where he studied Dixieland Jazz and swing. Having grown up in Louisiana he brings a rich musical background to the bands sound with influences from David Grisman And Sam Bush to Louis Armstrong and Bill Monroe.
